Preparing to Honor the Deceased

Welcome to my website for Funerals, Memorials, and Life Tributes. My name is Ruth Ellen Hasser, and I am a certified Funeral Celebrant and Non-denominational Minister. I serve the city of St. Louis and its surrounding Missouri and Illinois counties.

If you are reading this, it is very likely that someone you love has recently died or is preparing for death. Whether the death was sudden or has come at the end of a long illness, this is a very difficult time for you and your family. And it is at this difficult time that you are now faced with preparing a funeral or memorial service.

As you think about a ceremony to honor someone you love, you want to have a fitting tribute to that person, something that is honest, meaningful, and dignified. You want a ceremony which both honors the person who has died, as well as one which helps you and those closest to the deceased to get through this difficult time. If you or the deceased belong to a house of worship, you will most likely work with their pastoral leadership to design a funeral or memorial for your loved one. But if you do not have that option, consider a ceremony created by a certified Funeral Celebrant.

A funeral, memorial service, or life tribute created by certified Funeral Celebrants are customized and personalized. As a certified Funeral Celebrant, I am a highly qualified and practicing professional trained and certified in creating authentic and meaningful ceremonies. I specialize in ceremonies for people who have non-religious backgrounds or multicultural traditions, as well as people with either traditional or current spiritual practices. In collaboration with you, I will carefully craft a eulogy and create a ceremony using music, quotations, readings, symbols and rituals which are meaningful for the family of the deceased. No ceremony is delivered unless every detail of the eulogy is checked and approved by a designated member of the family. Then, with compassion, sincerity and great care, I will officiate at the ceremony at the funeral home, crematorium, cemetery or memorial location of your choice.

My Credentials

I am a Non-denominational Minister and Life-Cycle Celebrant®. I was ordained with the Universal Brotherhood Movement in 2008, and my Funeral Celebrant certification is through the Celebrant Foundation and Institute, where I was certified in Funerals and Ceremonies for Healing in 2010.

Fees

My fees reflect the time and care I will take to carefully craft the eulogy and ceremony, the number of services you require, and the training and experience I bring to this ceremony. They range from $250 – $550. When we talk, I will be able to offer you a fee quote, based on information you give me about your service needs.
